Technical Quick Start for Students
This page includes instructions to perform some of the most common technical tasks for both new and returning students.
Adobe--Temporary Access to Creative Cloud for Some Students
- The Campus is making Adobe available for students whose classes require this software. This temporary at-home access to Creative Cloud desktop apps available to students during the semester it is required.
- Choose the “Personal Account” option when logging in with your Butte College email address, which will then use the Adobe ID authentication method: http://creativecloud.adobe.com to download and install the Creative Cloud apps. For more information, see Learn how to download and install apps.
- Users with already installed apps may need to sign out and then sign in again to activate the apps. For more information, see Sign in to Creative Cloud apps.
Login Issues:
- Make sure that you are using an Adobe ID (Personal Account) with your Butte College email address. Students will need to create an Adobe ID as described here: http://helpx.adobe.com/manage-account/using/create-update-adobe-id.html. They can also be instructed to click the “Create an account” link on the Sign in page.
- Using a private/incognito browser session may help with login – have students sign into adobe.com with a private/incognito browser session. Otherwise, they may end up being signed into the wrong account due to information cached by the web browser.
- If Students have created an Adobe ID based on the email address you have provided and still cannot log in, they need to contact Adobe for support: 1 (800) 833-6687.
- If students have tried all of the above and still need support with access (ex: need activation email re-sent, still getting message to contact administrator), please contact the CollegeBuys support team at collegebuys@foundationccc.org. Their hours are Monday – Friday, 9AM – 5PM.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER MY LICENSE EXPIRES?
After the temporary grace period, you’ll no longer be able to use the desktop products from outside the labs.
Because this license has no storage services, you should either save files locally or store them in OneDrive to ensure no loss of assets. Login to OneDrive at: http://onedrive.live.com/about/en-us/signin/
Here is a great FAQ for Students & Teachers from Adobe.
